Configure key creation interval

Option/Function

Description

Key creation interval

  1. In the field Every, enter the number of days for the key creation interval.
  2. The default value is 365 days.

Delay of activation

  1. In the field For, enter the number of days for the delay of activation.
  2. The default value is 0 days.

Key expiration date

NOTICE! If the check box Key expiration has been deactivated, there is no restriction to the retention time.

  1. Activate the check box Key expiration.
    • The following warning is displayed:
  2. Click on the button Yes to activate the key expiration date.
    • The field After displays the number of days after which the key will expire.
    • The value equals the selected key creation interval.
  3. Click on the button No to not activate a key expiration date.

Check Validity

Here, you can check the relation between the key expiration date and the retention times in the recording rules.

  1. Click on the button Check Validity to determine the sum of the highest retention time and the key creation interval.
    • An information with the maximum retention time is displayed, see example.
    • Click on the button Yes to confirm the validity check.
  2. NOTICE! If the value for the key expiration date is shorter than the determined value, then the encrypted recording may not be replayed anymore once the key has expired. Export is only possible during the valid key creation interval.
  3. In the field After enter the number of days determined in the validity check.
  4. Click on the button Check Validity to finish the validity check.
    • Click on the button Save to save the tenant configuration.

 

Example

In a recording rule, a retention time (TTL) of 2999 days has been set and the key creation interval has been configured with 1 day.

  1. Click on the button Check Validity.
  2. The field After and the button Check Validity are highlighted in red to indicate that the key expiration is shorter than the determined value.
    • The following warning is displayed:
  3. The values of the retention times in all rules are checked. The highest value of the retention time is used.
    The check determines a sum of 3000 days for the maximum retention time.
  4. Click on the button Yes to confirm the validity check.
  5. In the field After enter the number of days determined in the validity check.
  6. Example: 3000 days
  7. Click on the button Check Validity to finish the validity check.
  8. The field After and the button Check Validity are highlighted in green.
    • Click on the button Save to save the tenant configuration.
