Call control via DTMF-signals and PSTN-announcement-management
DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) and PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) these functions enable the control of call recordings and announcements. They are dependent on your user rights and use standardized telephone key inputs by identifying the key tones.
DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency)
DTMF is a system used to transmit signals via telephone lines. It is often used to transmit commands during a call, e.g. to navigate menus or control calls. Each time a button is pressed on the phone, a unique sound is generated that transmits the signal.
Start and stop recordings:
- With DTMF you can start and stop call recordings by entering a predefined key combination on your phone.
- This function is particularly useful for recording important parts of a conversation or not recording sensitive content.
- e.g.: These combinations must be defined by the administrator. To start recording, you can enter the key combination *1234. To stop, you could enter *4321.
PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network)
PSTN refers to the traditional fixed-line telephone system used worldwide for voice communication. It is often used for regular calls and conferences. The functions described can also be used here.
Suppression of the announcement for PSTN subscribers:
- For calls via PSTN, an automatic announcement can be played to indicate, for example that the call is being recorded.
- This announcement can be suppressed with a DTMF key combination so that it is not played for a certain period of time (e.g. 180 days).
- e.g.: These combinations must be defined by the administrator; to suppress the announcement, you could enter *9 followed by a time. After this time has elapsed, the phrase is automatically reactivated.
